Race 4 was sailed over the same course, with the same start and finish lines.

At the gun Tim was first to cross the line with Jazz astern and Ed further down the line. The next three boats were Mark, Alan and Julian in that order. It depended upon how soon one tacked - to reach the windward mark. Those who took the plunge early did best as those nearer the shore lost the breeze.

Thus after Ed who turned the mark first it was Julian next to go with Alan just ahead of Tim and Mark and then Matt.

On the downwind leg Mark  passed Tim with Matt left behind but overtaking Tim before the mark midway along the east shore.

By the time they reached the mark off the south end of the Island Alan had caught up and passed Julian only to lose that position by the time they reached the mark off the Fisherman’s Bay. By the time the fleet began crossing the line at the end of the lap Ed was out in front with Julian 2nd, 10 seconds ahead of Alan 3rd, Matt 4th 18 second behind, Mark 5th just 1 second astern. Dave was in 6th place, Jo 7th, Tim 8th, Andy 9th, Will Apps 10th, Jazz 11th,Will.R 12th, Bea 13th and Pete 14th.

Lap 2 was led by Ed with Julian still second. Mark was now up to 3rd place having overtaken Alan whilst Matt  was still 7 seconds further back. Dave then Jo came next with Andy now ahead of Tim and then Will.A. Jazz was in 11th place ahead of Will.R and Pete and lastly Bea. Jazz, Will.R, Pete and Bea were finished here.

Lap 3 – the final lap saw no change in the front three - Ed, Julian and Mark.  After a small matter of opinion on water for the mark, saw Matt get ahead of Alan - who did turns just in case - crossing the line 8 seconds in front.

With the calcs done the winner of the race was Jazz with Ed second, Tim third, Julian fourth and Matt fifth.

Two nice races, dull skies but dry  and with a light breeze every one enjoyed the morning, what is more nobody fell in the water.

PS. Those observant of my readers may spot that the first few photos are over printed with the date 11/11/2023 I do not know the reason for this error but they were definitely taken on 12/11/2023.
PPS. Space on this blog only allows for a limited number of photos, my record holds many more for 12/11/2023. Should anyone like to see shots of their boat (with or without others) then email me at 'alan.simmons1001@virginmedia.com' with your name and boat details and I will attempt to send you some shots.
