Streaker Ramblings - Freeman Iceberg Races 5 & 6 - 15th Nov 2015

With Gale warnings the RO John Freeman went to the pond - and seeing the prevailing conditions at Piddinghoe - decided that no racing should be held. There were some prospective sailors present but not, he considered, sufficient qualified or proficient safety
boat crews. Likewise the majority of the sailors were not experienced enough for the conditions.

However one boat did go afloat, Michael Veale and Mike Rosier in their RS 200. They rigged and hit the water for a glorious blast, even using their gennaker. As was to be expected however they did succumb to one glorious capsize, as the  picture shows, before I departed from the pond. I had ventrured down to see if anyone would brave the waves - no intention to sail myself after Fridays Hospital visit (arriving at Haywards heath's Princess Royal at 6.30 am and arriving home at 7.15 pm) - taking Bett's Camera with me.
